Painful Storms of Life

Painful Storms of Life
By Ron Wilkerson

As I was reading in my Bible tonight, the many people facing fear and depression have been on my heart.  We need Hope to face these trials in life.  Well, let's take a trip over to Psalm 32.  In this Psalm David shows us our Hope and our blessing.
Psalm 32:1 (NASB) "How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!

Absolutely true, how wonderful this is to know that the God of the universe makes allowance for our sin; and then covers it for us so that we might have life!  Not only does He simply cover the sin, He has to do it Himself via His only Son.  Thank you Jesus for being willing.

To the issue at hand.  The painful storms of this life are usually physical, emotional and spiritual.  All three are affected when a hurt is presented in their various forms. David puts it this way, Psalm 32:3-6 (NASB) "When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.  I acknowledged my sin to You.  And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.'"  AND YOU FORGAVE THE GUILT OF MY SIN!  Therefore, let EVERYONE who is godly PRAY to You in a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.

Notice the underlined portions of scripture here.  David kept silent about his sins so there were consequences.  These consequences included physical and no doubt mental anguish.  Then David acknowledges that the Lord's hand was heavy upon him and therefore his vitality/strength wasted away.  My brethren, sin will eat at you and separate you from God until you turn around and see that you have left God behind you.  At this point you face life alone, for it is your own free will that God gave you to decide how to live.  It is this free will which is a divine attribute of God.  YOU MUST USE IT WISELY OR SUFFER!

David then says that he acknowledged his sin, "AND YOU FORGAVE THE GUILT OF MY SIN".  "Let everyone who is godly PRAY to YOU in a time when You may be found."  If you read my last post, then you will know this time is short.

Friends, pray now and be forgiven.  Let God appropriate what He Himself already accomplished for you at no cost to you on the Cross of Calvary in order to forgive your SIN.  No one in their right mind would say NO to such a great gift.  It is FREE PEOPLE, FREE!!!

Don't let this life pass you by without saying YES, Lord I accept your payment for my sin!  I would highly encourage you to break out your Bible right now if you are suffering and read this scripture out loud.  Let your physical and your spiritual ears hear this word spoken aloud.

I have purposely left out the blessing for those who do as prescribed in the above scriptures.  Go search out Psalm 32 and tell the Lord, YES, I receive this promise you give to me this day!

Until next time my brothers and sisters, blessings to you all!  May the God of peace keep you and bless you in your going in and your coming out!

Your Brother in Christ,

Ron Wilkerson
